Thank you for becoming a member

Becoming a member of Patriot Guard Riders can be summed up in one word: respect. Our entire focus is on respect for members both past and present of the armed forces as well as all first responders, including all law enforcement, fire fighting and public safety personnel. Having and showing respect is the one and only prerequisite and requirement to become a member of Patriot Guard Riders. The true meaning of being a Patriot Guard Rider is perhaps best told by an unknown author.

I AM A PATRIOT GUARD RIDER. I HONOR
THE FALLEN. I STAND AND WITNESS WHAT
NO ONE ELSE WANTS TO SEE.

I RIDE IN THE RAIN. I STAND IN THE HOT SUN.
I HOLD A FLAG, THE FLAG OF THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA, A FLAG THAT IS AS
DEAR TO ME AS IT WAS TO OUR FALLEN
HERO. THIS FLAG MUST BE HERE TODAY.
I AM SIMPLY ITS HOLDER.

I AM A PATRIOT GUARD RIDER. I WILL RENDER
HONORS. I WILL PAY MY RESPECTS. I HOPE
THAT JUST MY STANDING HERE WITH THIS
BEAUTIFUL FLAG WILL BRING SOME SMALL
MEASURE OF COMFORT.

I WILL CRY WHEN I HEAR THE THREE SHARP
VOLLEYS OF RIFLE FIRE FOLLOWED BY THE
BEAUTIFUL TWENTY-FOUR NOTES OF TAPS.

I AM A PATRIOT GUARD RIDER
